The Arad County Council has announced an investment of nearly 30 million lei (approximately 5 million euros) for the construction of a nuclear medicine laboratory within the outpatient clinic of the Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital. This initiative will enable high-precision imaging diagnostics and monitoring of treatment effectiveness directly in the hospital, both in outpatient settings and in day hospitalization, thus contributing to reducing the length of hospital stays and relieving the Oncology department.
The President of the Arad County Council, Iustin Cionca, emphasized the importance of this laboratory for oncology patients, who will no longer need to travel to other cities for diagnosis and treatment. The new building will have an area of 506.85 square meters and will include PET-CT and SPECT-CT examination rooms, injection rooms, waiting areas, and medical offices. The project will implement advanced solutions for radiological protection and will be carried out without affecting the activities of the oncology department. The funding for the medical equipment will come from European funds, while the construction will be covered by the own budget, with an estimated execution duration of 6 months.
