The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) will install new automatic weather stations in Buzău County, expanding the meteorological observation network to 14 points. The project, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, includes the acquisition of 300 automatic weather stations and 100 agrometeorological stations.
The new stations will measure meteorological parameters such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, and direction, contributing to a more accurate characterization of local weather variability. The locations for the new stations are Zorești, Gherăseni, Săhăteni, Buzău Nord, Rătești, Pogoanele, Padina, Vintilă Vodă, and Rușețu.
The increase in network density will allow for the rapid identification of dangerous meteorological phenomena, thus improving forecasts and weather warnings. ANM emphasizes the importance of this project for reducing uncertainty in operational meteorological analyses.
