In Mehedinți County, an outbreak of swine fever has led to the culling of over 1,500 pigs from a farm in the locality of Devesel, where the disease was detected. So far, 100 pigs have died due to the virus. The prefect of the county, Alin Isuf, emphasized the importance of limiting the risks of spreading the disease to other farms and households, considering the contagious nature of the virus. Legal measures will be implemented by all involved institutions, and the population will be informed by veterinarians about the necessary steps.
Additionally, procedures will be carried out so that the affected economic agent can be compensated. Swine fever, a viral disease that affects domestic and wild pigs, does not pose a danger to human health.
