Most supermarkets, hypermarkets, and malls in Romania will operate according to the usual schedule during the period of May 30 – June 1, 2026, even though June 1 is a legal holiday dedicated to International Children's Day. Major retailers such as Kaufland, Carrefour, Penny, Lidl, Auchan, and Mega Image have not announced any special schedule restrictions for the Pentecost period. Kaufland stores will be open from Monday to Saturday between 07:00 and 22:00, and on Sunday between 08:00 and 21:00. Carrefour and Lidl will also have normal hours, between 07:00 and 22:00. In Bucharest, malls such as AFI Cotroceni, Băneasa Shopping City, and ParkLake will operate between 10:00 and 22:00. Commercial activity will take place without significant changes in most cities across the country during the period of May 30 – June 1, 2026.
