Women who have given birth to several children have a significantly lower risk of developing breast, ovarian and uterine cancer, according to a study by the Arctic University of Norway. The risk decreases by about 10% after each birth, and women with six children have an almost 50% lower risk compared to those without children. The study, based on historical data, suggests that hormonal and immunologic changes during pregnancy contribute to this protective effect. The findings offer new insights into cancer prevention, even though women today have fewer children on average.
