Several students at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies report the appearance of bedbugs in one of the institution’s buildings, located on Calea Dorobanți in Bucharest. They sent the newsroom images showing insects on benches and sofas and say that the situation was reported to ASE management.

According to the students, the insects were reportedly observed on furniture in the building’s hallways. However, the university management inspected the indicated spaces and furniture and says that no bedbugs or other signs confirming an infestation were identified.

As a precautionary measure, the reported furniture has been isolated and will no longer be used. ASE announced that furniture in the institution’s other buildings will also be removed as part of the inspections.

The university also says that pest-control treatments have been carried out and will continue in all its buildings. So far, the institution has not confirmed the existence of an infestation, while inspections and preventive measures continue.
