STB announced that, starting from April 20, it will reduce working hours and salaries for approximately 3,300 employees, including TESA staff and management. The measure is part of a streamlining plan and will be applied until July 20. The general director of STB, Andrei Dinculescu Bighea, confirmed the decision, mentioning that it will generate reductions in indirect costs. However, certain categories of employees, such as those in the Road Vehicle Transport Directorate and the Maintenance Department, will not be affected. STB is facing a significant loss of personnel, especially among drivers and conductors, and the general mayor Ciprian Ciucu emphasized the need to reform the company to avoid insolvency. This decision comes in the context of the difficulties STB faces in attracting and retaining staff.
