The accident occurred while the SMURD ambulance was on its way to the scene. The four members of the ambulance crew, as well as the driver of the car involved, received medical attention at the scene. The paramedics and the volunteer were transported to hospital with various traumatic injuries, while the driver of the car refused transportation to hospital.
