Starting from October 12, 2025, Sibiu International Airport will implement the Entry/Exit System (EES), thus becoming the first airport in Romania to use electronic border control. This system will replace passport stamping, electronically recording entry and exit data for non-EU citizens. EES will collect biometric data, contributing to more efficient and secure control. The implementation will be gradually extended to other border crossing points.
