The legislative proposal submitted by the PSD-PNL coalition to abolish special pensions for magistrates was rejected by the Senate with 74 votes in favor. The leader of the USR senators argued that the vote was not against the reform, but against an electoralist project without proper consultation. Instead, a new draft will be drawn up by the government, discussed with magistrates, to avoid legislative parallelism. Criticism has also been leveled at the lack of a clear justification in the rejection report.
