The Sector 4 City Hall announced the implementation of a surveillance system consisting of over 600 cameras, aimed at enhancing community safety. The investment, worth 20 million lei, was made from the local budget.

The cameras are placed in strategic areas, such as main streets, intersections, around rehabilitated blocks, playgrounds, and educational institutions. The images are transmitted in real-time to a command center, where police officers can quickly intervene in emergency situations. Mayor Daniel Băluță emphasized the importance of this project for creating a safe environment, especially in areas frequented by children.

Chief Police Commissioner Bogdan Berechet highlighted the preventive and reactive role of the system, mentioning that, for now, fines cannot be applied solely based on the captured images. In the future, PSD will initiate a similar project to contribute to increasing the level of safety.
