The investigators of economic crime in Hunedoara County conducted two home searches on Monday in a criminal case regarding the illegal sale of software licenses. A man from Deva is suspected of selling pirated licenses, claiming they are original, with prices ranging between 2,000 and 100,000 lei.

According to the Hunedoara County Police Inspectorate, he was using an online sales platform to offer the products without the consent of the rights holder. Following the searches, sums of money, laptops, mobile phones, and storage media were seized for expertise.

The action is being carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Deva Court, investigating crimes of promoting pirated goods and fraud. The investigations are ongoing, and the total damage will be determined later. The action involved police officers from the Economic Crime Investigation Service, with the support of the Special Actions Service and criminal specialists.
