On June 3, 2026, the police of the General Directorate of Police of Bucharest conducted two searches in the case of psychologist Ion Duvac, accused of sexual harassment of patients.
The action took place under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Court of Sector 5, following an ex officio notification from February 23, 2026. Duvac, aged 64, is suspected of crimes such as the abusive use of his position for sexual purposes, rape, and sexual assault. Investigators discovered that the doctor allegedly made explicit sexual proposals to patients, even requesting intimate photographs from them.
The police have issued a call to all potential victims to file a complaint.
The Romanian College of Psychologists emphasized that such behaviors violate the fundamental ethical principles of the profession.
Investigations continue under the supervision of the competent authorities.
