Ryanair, Europe's leading low-cost airline, is to increase the size of its free hand luggage from 40x25x20 cm to 40x30x20 cm, following a European agreement on minimum cabin baggage dimensions. The change, which will be implemented in a few weeks, gives passengers an extra 24 liters of volume compared to the European standard of 40x30x15 cm. The competition, including easyJet and Wizz Air, will maintain the current dimensions, while Ryanair opposes the measure to allow two cabin bags.
