Romsilva has notified the Greenfield Federation about the unilateral termination of the toll contract that allowed vehicle traffic on the forest road in Băneasa, which was opened last year for the residents of the neighborhood.

They were forced to use detours until its opening, but now they will lose access once the 60-day notice period expires.

The contract, signed in March 2025, sparked controversy and strong reactions from civil society, which warned about the negative impact on the forest. A report from the Ministry of Environment indicated the opening of the road as abusive, and a petition to protect the forest gathered tens of thousands of signatures. After the expiration of the term, the road will revert to the status of a forest road, used exclusively for specific activities.
