In 2025, Romanians spent approximately 3 billion euros on vacations in destinations such as Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Hungary, according to ZF estimates. These countries remained the favorites of domestic tourists, especially due to their attractive beaches. Last year, over 3.5 million Romanians visited Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey, recording an increase compared to previous years. Hungary also received a significant number of Romanian tourists, with over 713,000 visitors, representing an increase of nearly 12% compared to the previous year. The number of overnight stays by Romanians in Hungary exceeded 1.38 million, with a 10% increase. These figures place Romania second in the ranking of international markets for Hungary. In total, Romanians spent 10 billion euros on vacations and business in 2025, surpassing this threshold for the first time.
