Medals for Romanian students at the 2026 International Mathematics Olympiad in Shanghai, China

At the International Mathematics Olympiad 2026, held in Shanghai, China, the Romanian team achieved remarkable results, winning one gold medal, three silver medals, and two bronze medals. The Ministry of Education announced the team's performances, congratulating the students for their achievements.

David-Vlad Mărghidan from the International High School of Computer Science in Bucharest won a gold medal, while the silver medals were won by Mihai Alexandru Ardelean, Radu Ionuț-Stoleriu, and David Ghibu. The bronze medals were obtained by Emanuel Mazăre and Andrei Vila. The team was coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Cătălin Gherghe, and the Ministry of Education provided financial support for the team's participation.

The competition brought together 666 competitors from over 120 countries, highlighting the importance of education and performance in mathematics at the international level.
