Recent tensions in the Middle East have led to the suspension of commercial flights, leaving several groups of Romanian students stranded in Dubai. Among them is a group coordinated by teacher Laura Sălciuc, who reported on the experiences lived after the closure of airspace in the United Arab Emirates. Local authorities have suspended air traffic, and airports in Dubai have been temporarily closed.
The management of the 'Petru Rareș' National College confirmed that ten students, along with accompanying teachers and parents, are among the Romanians remaining in the city. The County School Inspectorate maintains contact with the affected groups, and authorities are seeking repatriation solutions. The teacher mentioned that, although the atmosphere in Dubai seemed calm, the uncertainty created stress for both adults and children.
The students were supposed to return to Romania on Saturday, but the closure of airspace canceled their plans. The group was accommodated in a hotel, and the teacher emphasized that they were well taken care of. However, a security alert generated panic among the group, but hotel staff assured that everything is in order. Other groups of Romanian students in Dubai are facing similar situations, being accommodated in hotels until flights resume.
