The Austrian police discovered an extensive fraud involving cars after a vehicle with stolen Norwegian plates was stopped in Graz during a routine check. Inspector Fritz Grundnig confirmed that, following an inquiry in the computer system, it was found that the car had been reported stolen in Norway. A pursuit led to an underground parking lot, where five more cars were found, all originating from Norway. A family of Romanians, consisting of three people, is suspected of having stolen the vehicles, claiming that they have the financial capacity.
The total value of the six cars is estimated at 150,000 euros, and they will be returned to Norway. The investigation has been completed and has been forwarded to the Austrian authorities, and the family is accused of serious fraud and violating immigration laws.
