The Ministry of Defense announced that two F-16 fighter jets from the 86th Air Base in Fetești were launched following a new Russian drone attack on Ukrainian ports along the Danube. The attacks occurred near the border with Romania, and the surveillance system identified aerial vehicles launched by Russia towards the ports in the Ismail area. Around 10:00 AM, the F-16s were dispatched to monitor the border area in the northern part of Tulcea County, and at 10:17 AM, the authorities sent a RO-Alert message to the local population. The state of alert was lifted at 11:00 AM, with no unauthorized incursions recorded in national airspace.
ISU Tulcea emphasized that the RO-Alert message was preventive, advising citizens to adhere to safety measures and to obtain information from official sources. No calls were reported to the emergency number 112 following this message.
