At the Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris, the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, emphasized the importance of nuclear energy as a solution for the clean energy deficit. Romania, with 60 years of experience in this field, has high-performance nuclear reactors, ranked among the top in the IAEA scoreboard.
Ivan highlighted that nuclear energy already covers one-fifth of the national electricity consumption and that, in the next 10 years, production capacities will nearly triple. The projects at Cernavodă, including the modernization of Reactor 1 and the development of Units 3 and 4, are essential for Romania's energy security and competitiveness. Additionally, the first SMR project in Europe is being developed in Doicești, which will bring investments and jobs.
