Romania will receive refugees in the period 2026-2027, according to a decision by the Government. Sudanese, Eritrean, and South Sudanese citizens located in centers in Egypt and Kenya will be relocated to the country.

According to a decision approved by the Government, Romania will receive 300 refugees from Egypt and Kenya, including Sudanese, Eritreans, and South Sudanese, during the period 2026-2027. This measure is part of Romania's commitment to contribute to the European Union's relocation and humanitarian admission plan, in accordance with the European Pact on Migration and Asylum. Logistical assistance will be provided through national programs, in accordance with European regulations.
