The National Meteorological Administration issued a yellow heat warning on Thursday, June 25, 2026, for almost the entire country.

Temperatures will reach highs of 35 degrees Celsius in the west and northwest, and thermal discomfort will be heightened, especially in lowland areas, where the temperature-humidity index will exceed 80 units. In Bucharest, temperatures will range between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius.

In the context of the extreme heat wave affecting Europe, meteorologists warn that such phenomena are becoming increasingly frequent due to climate change. In Italy, 16 cities are under a red heat warning, and in France, record temperatures of up to 44 degrees Celsius have been recorded, with devastating effects on infrastructure and public health. Authorities in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Germany are also facing extreme heat waves, and experts emphasize the need to adhere to recommendations to protect public health.
