Nicușor Dan, the president of Romania, declared that our country is working on action plans for intervention in the Strait of Hormuz, in the context of a possible ceasefire in the region. Although plans for an intervention are underway, Nicușor Dan emphasized that Romania is not yet ready to act. Romania thus joins the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan in efforts to secure the area. The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, mentioned that Romania can contribute through staff officers and information exchange, considering the experience gained in demining. The president reaffirmed the country's commitment not to get directly involved in the conflict in the Middle East, but to collaborate with international partners for de-escalation.
