Romania joins the Carpathian Initiative for regional cooperation, launched by Volodymyr Zelensky

Romania has been invited to participate in the Carpathian Initiative, a new regional cooperation format initiated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration among the states in the Carpathian region in the fields of security, economy, logistics, the reconstruction of Ukraine, culture, and tourism.

Alongside Romania, Austria, Serbia, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia are also invited to the initiative. Zelensky emphasized that the purpose of this platform is to create opportunities for joint projects and the development of regional cooperation, considering that not all states are willing to provide military assistance to Ukraine, but are interested in humanitarian and economic collaborations.

The first meeting of the Carpathian Initiative is scheduled for this autumn, and details are being established. This platform could become an important framework for the implementation of strategic projects in the region.
