Alexandru Nazare, the Minister of Finance, stated that the sum of one billion dollars that Romania should pay to obtain a permanent seat on the Peace Council proposed by Donald Trump is considered 'an important amount'. He emphasized that such a decision, which pertains to foreign policy, will be discussed in the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT).

Nazare mentioned that Romania is in the process of budget preparation and that the evaluation of this proposal will be carried out within the CSAT. Additionally, American officials have proposed expanding this Council to include other countries affected by conflicts, such as Ukraine and Venezuela. The concept is viewed by the Trump administration as a potential substitute for the UN, aimed at managing international conflicts. Romania has received an official invitation from President Trump to become a member of this Council.
