Romania has started the compensation process for four items of treasure, including the Coțofenești Casket, stolen from the Netherlands. The total value of the damage is estimated at €5.7 million, to be paid by an international insurance company. The decision was taken by the Romanian authorities independently, underlining the importance of recovering cultural heritage.
