Romania will increase natural gas production to reduce domestic prices and provide an alternative to Russian resources, said Minister Oana Zoiu in Washington.

The Romanian Foreign Minister, Oana Ţoiu, stated at the Hudson Institute in Washington that Romania assumes a strategic role in the energy security of the region, aiming to increase natural gas production in the coming years. This measure aims to reduce internal prices and provide a viable alternative to Russian resources, thus protecting the region from the use of energy prices as a tool for political leverage.

Oana Ţoiu emphasized the importance of the partnership with the United States, which will be expanded in areas such as advanced technology and critical minerals. She also highlighted Romania's economic success and the need for resilience within the transatlantic bloc. The event was moderated by recognized experts and included discussions about the importance of the Black Sea region in the context of transatlantic security.
