Romania aims to become a focal point in the railway sector through the Dacia project, discussed by the Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, and a delegation from Hyundai Rotem. The project aims to locate the production of rolling stock in Romania, develop hydrogen trains, and define the stages for a future high-speed railway. Collaboration with Hyundai Rotem could bring significant benefits, including the development of a competitive railway industry, the creation of sustainable jobs, and the formation of a highly skilled technical workforce.

Additionally, the goal is to accelerate the transition to non-polluting transport and position Romania as a European hub for railway production and innovation, thereby strengthening long-term industrial autonomy through well-structured public-private partnerships.
