On Friday, December 5, Romania and Switzerland will sign a partnership agreement to strengthen disaster response capacity, during an event organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The agreement will be signed between the Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), and the Swiss Air Rescue Service REGA. The partnership aims to implement Component 3, titled "Air Rescue and Disaster Preparedness," funded by the Second Swiss Contribution for Romania.

Swiss experts will train Romanian pilots in advanced mountain rescue techniques, low-altitude flying, and night operations, thus improving national air intervention. Additionally, DSU and IGSU will initiate measures to enhance the legislative framework regarding volunteering in emergency situations and will launch campaigns to increase civic engagement.
