Minister Oana Țoiu marked the Centenary of the Treaty of Friendship between Romania and France, emphasizing the importance of the commitment to peace.

The interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, stated that peace in Europe is a commitment that must be renewed daily, on the occasion of the centenary celebration of the Treaty of Friendship between Romania and France, signed on June 10, 1926. This treaty, the first major Franco-Roman agreement, was signed in Paris by Constantin Diamandy and Aristide Briand and established cooperation in the field of European security.

Oana Ţoiu emphasized that, although the treaty was initially concluded for ten years, the friendship between the two states has continued, providing guarantees of peace and understanding. A century after its signing, the treaty remains a symbol of the deep relationship between Romania and France, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to continue deepening bilateral cooperation for a united and prosperous Europe.
