Oana Ţoiu, the interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Romania demonstrates resilience in the face of international instability, emphasizing that the lessons learned in the past year will guide the national strategy. She highlighted that Romania should not choose between the relationship with the USA and that with the European Union, as both are essential for economic development.
Ţoiu emphasized the importance of trade relations with third countries, such as Mercosur, for strengthening global ties. She also mentioned that over 70% of Romania's trade comes from the European single market, arguing against its fragmentation. In the context of joining the OECD, Ţoiu highlighted Romania's rapid progress, which is leading the accession process, having completed all necessary reforms to become part of the club of developed economies.
