The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, had a meeting on Monday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Anita Anand, at the Cotroceni Palace, focused on strengthening the bilateral partnership. Following the discussions, the president emphasized the joint commitment of the two countries to develop relations in key areas such as security, defense, nuclear energy, and the economy.
Nicușor Dan highlighted the common values that underpin the Enhanced Partnership between Romania and Canada, mentioning Canada's contribution to the security of the region, especially on NATO's Eastern Flank. The president thanked the Canadian authorities for their involvement in the mine clearance mission in the Black Sea, aimed at reducing the risks posed by naval mines.
Additionally, the two states collaborate in the field of civil nuclear energy, including in the development of small modular reactors. This meeting marks an important step in deepening the relations between Romania and Canada.
