Romania has recorded a remarkable performance at the International Olympiad in Informatics in Uzbekistan, ranking 2nd in the historic world medal standings. The Romanian team won a gold medal, obtained by Rareș-Andrei Neculau, a silver medal by Mihai-Valeriu Voicu, and two bronze medals, won by Andrei-Paul Iorgulescu and Alexandru Dima. The Ministry of Education emphasized that the high scores of Neculau and Voicu represent Romania's third-best historical performance in competition. Romania thus maintains its 2nd place in the all-time world medal ranking and 7th place in the value ranking. Additionally, Professor Adrian Panaete, Team Leader of the team, was awarded the 'Long Service Award' for his contribution to team management over seven editions of the competition.
