The Renault automotive group has held talks with Li Auto and Xiaomi on collaboration in electric cars and smart vehicles.

The talks took place at the Beijing auto show and come amid strained relations between Europe and China, with investigations into Chinese exports. Renault already has a partnership with Geely in thermal and hybrid engines, as well as collaborations with Google and Qualcomm in car technology. CEO Luca de Meo stressed the importance of learning from Chinese carmakers.
