Rareș Bogdan asks Ilie Bolojan to talk to the farmers protesting in Victory Square: “Ilie, come down from your office and talk to them!”

PNL MEP Rareș Bogdan asked interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan on Tuesday to speak directly with the farmers, sheep farmers, and shepherds who are protesting in Victory Square, warning that tensions must not be allowed to escalate.

In a Facebook post, Rareș Bogdan told Bolojan to “come down from his office” and speak with the protesters, arguing that they are facing problems that threaten their existence. The MEP also urged the farmers not to allow themselves to be provoked and to seek solutions through dialogue.

The Government announced that Ilie Bolojan had taken note of the demands submitted by the Professional Association of Shepherds and had discussed with interim Agriculture Minister Tanczos Barna the measures that could address the reported problems.

However, the Executive said that no representative association of farmers from the sheep sector had participated in the protest. The Government condemned the acts of violence and appealed for calm, stating that the demonstration had gone beyond the bounds of peaceful protest.
