Railway traffic was temporarily halted between Simeria and Orăștie, after the discovery of improvised electrical installations.

Railway traffic on line 200, between Simeria and Orăștie, was suspended on Sunday afternoon for safety reasons. The measure was taken by CFR SA after specialized personnel identified improvised electrical installations placed by unknown individuals in the railway tunnel at Turdaș.

Access for trains in the respective area was halted until the situation is clarified and the checks are completed. The competent authorities are conducting investigations to determine the circumstances of the placement of these installations and to identify the responsible individuals.

CFR SA emphasizes the seriousness of unauthorized interventions on railway infrastructure, which can pose major risks to train traffic and the safety of passengers. A similar incident occurred on August 12, when objects intentionally placed on the railway between Constanța and Mangalia were discovered, but traffic was not affected at that time.
