The Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, stated that he cannot take disciplinary action in the case of the head of DNA, Marius Voineag, following the USR's request for dismissal, emphasizing that the responsibility lies with the Judicial Inspection and the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). He explained that, according to the laws adopted in 2022, the minister does not have the authority to initiate disciplinary actions against judges.
Marinescu requested USR to present concrete evidence regarding the mismanagement of DNA, emphasizing that the dismissal of a chief prosecutor requires a thorough evaluation. He also stated that reforms in the judicial system must come from within, from judges, who play an essential role in establishing its functionality.
The documentary produced by Recorder, titled "Captured Justice", brought to discussion the issues of the judicial system in Romania, highlighting the negative influences of interest groups.
