Radu Marinescu, the Minister of Justice, stated that President Nicușor Dan has "every right" to inform himself about the issues in the justice system. He believes that Dan's initiative to organize an internal referendum among magistrates does not constitute a violation of the Constitution.

Marinescu emphasized that the president's concern to understand the problems in justice is legitimate, considering his representativeness. Although Dan did not detail how he will conduct the consultation, the minister stated that there are no reasons to consider it illegal. He mentioned that any consultation of magistrates must respect the independence of the judiciary and institutional principles. Marinescu added that there is already a legal mechanism for consulting magistrates, initiated by the CSM, which allows for the collection of their opinions through general assemblies.
