The Social Democratic Party (PSD) has announced that it firmly opposes salary cuts in the public sector, arguing that such a measure could cause serious blockages in essential sectors, such as Health. PSD calls on its government partners to abandon "simplistic" austerity and to avoid cuts in ministries that have already been reorganized.

The party emphasizes that, although reducing budgetary expenditures is necessary, it must take into account the specificities of each field. Indiscriminate cuts could affect the functioning of hospitals and could lead to the loss of European funds intended for technical assistance for investment projects.

The PSD's reaction comes in the context in which two ministers from the party refused to sign the expenditure cut projects, highlighting concerns related to the impact on agriculture and public health.
