On December 22, the trade unionists from Electrocentrale București (ELCEN) are organizing a protest between 11 AM and 1 PM in front of the Ministry of Finance, in reaction to Emergency Ordinance no. 156/2024.

The action, called by the Independent Free Union - Electrocentrale București Branch and the National Federation of Energy Workers in Romania, has mobilized hundreds of participants, aiming to draw attention to the negative impact of government measures on employees. The protesters are demanding a re-evaluation and modification of the ordinance, especially the articles that affect employees' rights and the construction of budgets for 2025. ELCEN has stated that it will continue its normal activities during the protest and emphasizes the importance of dialogue with social partners, ensuring the continuity of energy supply.
