The protest in University Square, scheduled at 19:00, is a reaction to the state's decision to officially commemorate Ion Iliescu, as the organizers want to honor the victims of the Mineriade violence. Activities include an area of living memory, artistic expression and civic dialog, promoting the right to truth and critical memory. Ion Iliescu died recently, and a state funeral is scheduled for August 6 and 7, 2025, including public ceremonies and a private burial.
