Several animal protection associations, including Justice for Animals and the Ramses Association, are organizing a protest in front of the Parliament on Sunday, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, in response to the abuses revealed at the private shelter in Suraia, Vrancea County.

Images of abused and killed animals have sparked outrage, and the organizers accuse a "systemic cruelty" and demand accountability from the authorities. The case of the Suraia shelter has led to its activity being suspended, and NGOs have intervened to save the surviving dogs. Criticism is also directed at other shelters, where similar abuses have been reported, and investigations show that over 64,000 dogs have been euthanized in Romania in the last three years, with costs exceeding 9 million euros, raising questions about public policies in the field.
