The Government spokesperson, Ioana Dogioiu, stated that the small modular reactors (SMR) project at Doicești, developed in partnership with the American company NuScale Power, will not be halted, but is currently undergoing an analysis process both from the Romanian authorities and the American partners. The government cited issues related to the feasibility of the investment, high costs, and the project's location, after interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that the feasibility study raises questions regarding the profitability and implementation of the project.
