Prime Minister Luca Niculescu said Saturday that investing in people is one of the government’s priorities, and that Romanians living abroad have an important place in this vision. He made the statement after attending, on Friday, the Forum of Young Romanians Abroad, organized by the Presidential Administration.
Niculescu said that young Romanians abroad should not be forced to choose between Romania and the rest of the world. The prime minister stressed that they should be able to find opportunities in the country to make the most of their education and talent, as well as the possibility of contributing to Romania’s development, regardless of where they live.
The head of government described the diaspora as an important resource of talent, expertise, experience and international connections. He added, however, that the state’s relationship with Romanians abroad must go beyond statements and ceremonial meetings and take concrete form through trust, opportunities and projects.
The ideas discussed at the forum will be analyzed together with public institutions and turned into measures and public policies. Niculescu said that young people need proof that their voices matter, while the authorities’ responsibility is to turn their proposals into reality.
