Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan had a meeting with Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG, to discuss cooperation in the defense sector and equipping the Romanian Army with state-of-the-art equipment. This will be financed from the SAFE program, which allocates over 16.5 billion euros to Romania. The government will clarify the necessary details for the approval of this collaboration by the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT) in the first meeting in November.

Bolojan emphasized the importance of integrating local companies and attracting new investors in the defense industry. A contract was also signed for the establishment of Rheinmetall Victoria SA, which will produce ammunition in Brașov County, thus strengthening the Romanian-German partnership in this sector.
