In March, Romania is facing a drastic change in the weather, after an early spring with temperatures reaching up to 20 degrees.
Meteorologists announce that, during the period of March 12-19, a cold air current from northeastern Europe will cause a drop in temperatures and bring precipitation, after a severe drought in the first decade of the month. The average precipitation was only 0.1 liters per square meter, compared to the normal of 41 liters, due to an atmospheric blockage.
After March 17, the weather will cool down across the country, and in the mountains, the rain will turn into snow.
The wind will intensify the feeling of cold, and the risks of frost may affect agriculture, especially in areas where the trees have started to bloom.
