PNL MEPs are calling on the European Commission for a firm response following the neutralization of three drones on Romanian territory.

Romanian liberal MEPs, through Daniel Buda, sent a letter to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, highlighting the importance of Romania as the eastern frontier of the European Union and NATO, in the context of the neutralization of three drones on national territory over three consecutive days.

They are calling for a firm response from the European executive and concrete measures to strengthen the security of external borders, considering the repeated and serious incidents at the border with Ukraine.

Buda announced the intention to request the European Parliament to adopt a resolution condemning Russia's actions and supporting Romania. The letter contains questions regarding the additional measures that the European Commission will propose for border security, as well as the financial and operational instruments available to support Romania.

The signatories emphasize the need for a rapid and concrete European response in support of the states on the front line of the European Union's defense.
