Vladimir Plahotniuc, the Moldovan billionaire recently arrested in Greece, is embroiled in a $1 billion fraud scandal. An investigation by The Insider reveals that he made frequent visits to Moscow, using a fake passport, to negotiate with officials in Vladimir Putin's entourage. Plahotniuc was allegedly in contact with Dmitry Kozak and held secret meetings as part of the Kremlin's efforts to influence politics in Moldova ahead of the 2024 and 2025 elections.
