Paige Greco, a Paralympic athlete from Australia, died at the age of 28 at her home in Adelaide. She won Australia's first gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, where she broke the record in the 3,000 m event, category C1–3, and also earned bronze medals. Her family stated that they are devastated by the loss but proud of her achievements. Greco began her career in athletics before dedicating herself to cycling in 2018, winning numerous world titles and medals in World Cup stages. Although she did not participate in the qualifiers for the Paris Games due to health issues, she made a strong comeback, earning a bronze medal at the Paracycling World Championships in Belgium. The Australian sporting community has sent messages of condolence, highlighting the positive impact Greco had on those around her.
